This plugin requires a DAW that accepts VST plugins. There are many free options. In this course, I will be using the Mind Reaper Configuration. This is included in the Basic and Advanced as well as the Quick Start course. Mind Reaper, plus the Prism plugin, provides a very powerful platform for creating quality brainwave entrainment and audio-visual stimulation sessions. Templates will be provided for the Mind Reaper DAW. The Prism Suite consists of:
Prism Cleaner- This is an app that wipes out any other files related to previous installations of Prism. If you have never had Prism installed on your computer, it's probably still a good idea to run it before installing Prism. You only need to use this for fresh Prism installations.
Prism Audio Bus - This is a plug-in that filters out unwanted high frequencies from sound files that may interfere with Spectrastrobe or Audiostrobe light signals. You can put this on the master track or create a folder or bus to route your audio signals to. This plug-in is only required when using Audiostrobe or Spectrastrobe light encoding.
Prism Monitor - Provides a visual meter representation of light signals for reference: red, green, and blue. This may be helpful with your DAW, but I didn't have much use for it with Mind Reaper, which constantly shows the meters for all sound outputs.
Prism Reference - This plugin produces a reference tone used for Spectrastrobe encoding. Sometimes, when using multiple instances of Prism, too many reference tones may be enabled simultaneously. Using this plugin, you would turn off the reference tone in all other instances of Prism. This plug-in is not necessary when using Mind Reaper, as it includes a reference tone track template.
Prism VST- This is the plugin you will be using most of the time. It is the only one you really need after the initial installation using the cleaner.
Any mention of Lumasonic should be disregarded, as Lumasonic is the encoder for the proprietary Lumasonic system, which is incompatible with Audiostrobe and Spectrastrobe decoders.
